The ten-second number game

Mayan Gender Predictor

Compare the mother's age at conception with the conception year. If both numbers are odd or both are even, this popular rule guesses girl; if they differ, it guesses boy.

Odd, even, and entirely for fun

This page uses the age-and-conception-year version because it is one of the most commonly repeated online variants.

The historical attribution of this exact rule to ancient Maya culture is not well documented. Treat it as a modern folk game, not established Mayan history or medical science.

Enter two numbers

Use the mother's age at conception and the conception year to predict boy or girl from their odd-or-even pattern.

How was this result calculated?

When age and year are both odd or both even, this rule predicts girl. When one is odd and the other is even, it predicts boy.

The rule explained

How does the Mayan gender predictor work?

Age 28 + year 2026Even + even → Girl
Age 27 + year 2026Odd + even → Boy
Age 29 + year 2025Odd + odd → Girl

The rule only checks whether the two values share the same parity. It does not calculate fertility, genetics, hormones, or fetal development. That simplicity is why it works well as a quick comparison after another entertainment predictor.

Age or month? Why do versions differ?

You may see an age-and-month version elsewhere. Folk methods often change as they are retold, and there is no authoritative ancient source establishing one universal calculator. This page states its rule before you use it so the result is transparent.

Is it accurate?

There is no credible evidence that odd and even numbers can predict fetal sex. With only two possible answers, it will appear correct for many users by chance.

Mayan gender calculator FAQ

Which age should I enter?

Use your age on the estimated conception date, not your age today.

Does conception month matter?

Not in the version used here. This calculator compares age with conception year.

Is this an authentic ancient Maya method?

The exact historical origin is unclear, so we do not present the modern online rule as verified ancient practice.

Can it tell if I am having a boy or girl?

No. It is a 50/50 entertainment guess.
